Livin' Hard Ain't Easy is a throwback to the sounds and vibes of our first record, Volume One. Ultimately it is a country record about Canada and for Canada. All the songs I wrote are about life in Canada, whether it's about the road, love, loss or tipping a few with your buddy. We wanted this record to sound like you were hearing us live, after all, that is our favourite way for you to hear us! We did the record in four days and the tracks are almost all live off the floor. Leading up to the session we were playing the tracks live so we could get them sounding the way we wanted before we started. With the help of excellent mixing and engineering by Tim Vesley, the listener will feel wherever they are listening turn into a small club or roadhouse, and that the band is just in front of them. This is the energy we bring every night to clubs across this wonderful country, and the energy we hope is felt when listening to Livin' Hard Ain't Easy, the 4th full length record from The Devin Cuddy Band.
