Produced by Chris Stringer, Dear Jane masterfully marries Cuddy's passion for New Orleans-style blues with the unmistakable influence of Canadiana-rock, pick up during his early years on the road.
The album opens with a dynamic cover of Barney Bentall's hit, "Come Back to Me," featuring the legend himself. From there, the nine-track collection takes listeners on a journey through captivating stories that span different eras and walks of life. From the heart-wrenching title track to the unbridled hope of "She Loved Me," Cuddy crafts a vibrant spectrum of relatable moments. The gospel-like crescendo of "Hold On Tight" and the charming "Unemployabill" add to the album's eclectic storytelling, all connected by a cohesive musical thread.
Written on both sides of the pandemic, Cuddy shares the challenges of bringing this album to life during periods of isolation, "I am inspired by people's stories, their lives and the interaction of sharing those things, and without that, my creative output was next to nothing. So in a way, this record is an homage to that feeling and that process of writing. It is a roadmap to the people and places I get to experience playing music and traveling for a living."
